Bernd Thomas

Dr. Bernd Thomas is a Project Manager at Navigon AG. He has been awarded his diploma in computer science from the University of Koblenz in 1998. He worked as project leader and research scientist for the University of Koblenz in several basic and applied European and national research projects on artificial intelligence related topics in the context of intelligent mobile information systems, information retrieval, and semantic based approaches for location based services.

In 2004 he received his Ph.D. on Machine Learning and Information Extraction. He is co-founder and was CEO from 2001 to 2006 of the start-up wizAI solutions GmbH, which provides software solutions for Online News Monitoring, Issue Management Systems, and location based information systems.
In 2006 he joined NAVIGON AG as responsible for research projects. He is leading several EU and national research projects in the field of advanced driver assistance systems and mobile navigation. Late this summer he took over the project lead of NAVIGON's MobileNavigator iPhone App development.
